lash extensions

A lash lift treatment lifts your natural eyelashes from the root, creating the illusion of length and curl that lasts up to 6-8 weeks depending on home care, eyelash growth, and even with activities such as swimming or daily showering.

Tinting treatment darkens your natural lashes and lasts an average of 3‐6 weeks depending on home care, eyelash growth, and even with activities such as swimming or daily showering. Lifting and tinting increase the length of the eyelashes; it merely enhances them.

Contraindications that PREVENT lash and tint treatments

Contraindications are conditions or symptoms that restrict a treatment. Please note that while this list covers many contraindications, there may be others not listed below that would also prevent you from receiving services, and we reserve the right to determine what constitutes a contraindication. Speak with your esthetician and your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Cysts: a lump on the upper or lower eyelid caused by obstruction and inflammation of an oil gland

  • Chemotherapy: lashes can become very frail and sometimes non-existent. Clients who are no longer being treated should get permission from their doctor.

  • Alopecia: hair loss may be caused by a number of factors. If your client has alopecia recommend asking a doctor before the service.

  • Trichotillomania: is classified as an impulse control disorder and is the compulsive urge to pull out one's own hair. Clients who pull their lashes out may not have symmetrical lashes and by giving them a lash lift and tint it may be more obvious.

  • Bell's Palsy or any condition that makes closing or opening eyes difficult

  • Hypersensitivity: some people are not able to relax and their eyes move making it difficult to perform the service. When someone's eyes are moving too much it is possible solution may enter the eye.

  • Any disease/disorder that causes shaking, twitching or erratic movements

  • Over processed lashes: do not reapply perming solution to a client who has damage already.

  • Skin disorders (Example: Dermatitis) in the general eye area

  • Eye infections such as Impetigo or Conjunctivitis (pink eye)

  • Recent operations around eyes, head, or face or scar tissue in immediate areas

  • Lasik eye surgery: after a client has eye surgery you should wait 6 months before providing any service.

  • Anxiety: clients may feel nervous or anxious about the procedure

Before your appointment

  • Contacts cannot be worn during procedure and cannot be put back in until the next day. If clients have sensitive eyes, eye drops or saline solution can be applied after service.

  • Arrive to your appointment with dry, clean lashes and makeup-free eyes.

Aftercare Instructions

  • Avoid getting your lashes wet, avoid steam, sauna, and swimming for 24 hours after treatment. After 24 hours, proceed with your regular cleansing routine. Eye make‐up remover will not strip the tint.

  • Do not touch or rub your eyes or eyelashes immediately after the treatment.

  • If redness or irritation occurs, apply a cool damp cotton compress to the eye area. If symptoms persist for more than 24 hours seek medical advice.

  • The effects of the lift and tint will start to diminish within 2-3 weeks as hair grows out and the tint color fades. Strong sunlight/UV light can make the tint color fade faster. Using abrasive facial scrubs or products with lightening ingredients in them may shorten the duration of the lift and tint.

  • Avoid exfoliating facial cleansers or products with lightening ingredients in them may shorten the length of duration. Those containing AHA's or other chemical exfoliates may decrease the life of your tint. A gentle facial cleanser or eye makeup remover is recommended.

  • Do not apply makeup or mascara to lashes or receive any other eye treatments for at least 24 hours after the lash lift or lash/brow tinting treatment.

  • Try to use oil-free facial products around the eye area to prolong the lift and tint color.

  • You can receive the lash lift and lash tinting treatment every 4 weeks.

If you experience any pain, redness or irritation, contact your technician immediately.

Informed Consent:

Although every precaution will be made to ensure your safety and well-being before, during and after your lash and tint service, please be aware of the possible risks below.

  • I understand there are risks associated with having an eyelash lift and eyelash tint. I further, understand that as part of the procedure, skin irritation and eye irritation, eye pain, stinging, burning, eye itching, discomfort, and in rare cases, infection or potential blindness may occur if enters the eye. I understand that even though Wonder Spa lifts and tint the lashes using the proper technique, the instruments, tapes, cleaners, eye gel pads, adhesives, and removers used may irritate my eyes and skin. I understand that some irritation, itching or burning may occur to the skin which comes in contact with the tinting agent.

  • I understand that if the lifting/tinting agent, developer, or mixture of both accidentally comes into contact with my eye, my eye will be flushed with water and medical attention may be required.

  • I understand contacts cannot be worn during an eyelash lift and tint procedure and cannot be put back in until the next day.

  • I understand that there may be some residual dark staining left on the skin following the tinting process of my lashes. This will fade and go away within a short time.

  • I understand that a lash lift lifts my natural lashes. Lifting will not thicken, lengthen or add additional hair but only curl/lift present hair. Depending on my natural lash length and strength, results may differ.

  • I understand that, while every attempt will be made to provide me with my chosen color, everyone’s hair absorbs color differently and my final results may not be the color I initially wanted. Tinting will not thicken, lengthen or add additional hair but only tint present hair.

  • I understand that over the course of several weeks, the lift and tint will gradually flatten, lighten and fade. Re-tinting and lifting will be required to keep the new color fresh and the lash lifted. Recommended time between lifts/tints are 4-6 weeks.

  • My expectations are realistic, and I understand that the results are not guaranteed, due to each individual's unique reactions.
